Every day is filled with choices. We choose whether we want to get up in the morning to go to work. We choose what we want to wear. We choose which way we want to drive to get to our employer.
Some of these choices seem very simple. Obviously, if we want to continue to be employed by our employer, we need to choose to go to work. Obviously, if we want to get to work in the shortest amount of time, we need to choose a route that is the shortest and fastest.
Choices like these are very simple. However, do we realize, also, that we have other choices? We can choose whether we want to let personal situations influence our professional lives. We choose whether we want to work collaboratively or cooperatively with our co-workers, or whether we want to resort to selfish and unproductive behaviors.
Simply choosing to treat everyone respectfully makes a huge difference in how others will respond to you. You can choose to compliment someone on something you admire. You can simply choose to smile at everyone you see.
These choices are very simple, but they yield very powerful results.
