“A clever person turns great troubles into little ones and
little ones into none at all.” ~Chinese Proverb
To be the victim, or not to be the victim…Choosing simply to
not become a victim to the unexpected circumstances that arise in our lives can
determine whether we will overcome our challenges or wallow in self-pity and
playing the blame game.
The next time you are presented with a challenge, or the
next time you feel uncomfortable, immediately ask yourself how you will go
about solving that problem. Challenge
yourself to come up with a solution. Put
yourself in charge of your own problems.
Your problems are yours to deal with, and yours alone. Assume responsibility for solving your own
problems, and hold yourself accountable for your difficulties and challenges.
Remember that by overcoming challenges, we gain positive
self-esteem. As the late James Lehman
stated, “You can’t feel your way to better behavior; you have to behave your
way to better feelings.”
When you quickly move into a problem-solving mode, and when you quickly overcome your challenges, they go from seeming quite large and significant to manageable issues.
You have the power to solve your greatest problems. You just have to believe in yourself! I believe in you! Make something great happen today! You’re in charge!
Have a great day!
