"Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day." - Mark Twain
I am not recommending anyone take this quote literally, however, if you view the quote as a metaphor, it can help launch your daily productivity. Author and speaker Brian Tracy stated that the "frog" of the day is the most challenging task "on your plate" for the day. If you eat the "frog" right away, you will get a sense of accomplishment and a positive vibe which will propel you through your other, less daunting tasks for the day. If you leave that frog on the plate, however, as the day progresses, and that frog is just waiting to be eaten, it will emotionally drain you, and your productivity will suffer.
One of the things I always try to hammer home about establishing a positive culture is that negativity and ineffective problem-solving strategies hamper productivity, reducing employee efficiency. One of the easiest ways for you to increase your efficiency, no matter who you are and what you have to tackle for the day, is to establish a list of tasks for the day and take care of that frog right away. The satisfaction you experience in accomplishing your goal will give you a much-needed boost for the day.
Chocolate syrup helps the frog go down a bit easier, by the way.
Have a great day.
Best wishes,
Victor
