Whenever someone says, “That won’t work,” or “It can’t be done,” do you believe them? Do you dare to ask the question, “Why not?”
We constantly battle the “impossible.” Is it too easy to just say, “It’s impossible, and can’t be done,” just so we don’t have to bother with pursuing it?
I know some people are perfectly comfortable being comfortable. They are where they want to be, and they are perfectly happy with things the way they are. That’s their choice, and they are entitled to it.
Some people, however, continue to never be satisfied. They don’t want to be comfortable; they want to pursue excellence, and they never stop going after it.
Just remember – those who constantly ask the question, “Why not?” are the people who bring us the advances in technology and new ways of doing things that make everyone’s lives better, more convenient, more comfortable, and much easier. Think of how our world has changed in the past ten years. Think of how our world has changed in the past five years. Five years ago, Facebook was unknown to much of the population. Five years ago, the iPad didn’t exist.
What will we see in five years that doesn’t exist today?
The top ten in-demand jobs of 2010 didn’t even exist in 2004. This means that our educational system is preparing students to work in jobs and solve problems that don’t even exist yet. Half of what our college students are learning right now will be outdated in two years.
“Impossible?” Nothing is impossible unless you convince yourself that it indeed is.
“Nothing is impossible; the word itself says ‘I’m possible!’” ~Audrey Hepburn
Have a great day!
