One of the easiest things to do, especially if you are responsible for the well being of others, is to forget to take time for yourself. As the holiday season progresses, time seems to go by, and before you know it, it's the end of the year, and you wonder where the days went.
Please remember to give yourself the gift of personal renewal. You need to take time for yourself. Give yourself a little "me" time, doing something that you enjoy doing for leisure, such as watching TV, playing games, doing crafts, or any other type of activity you really enjoy, and that you can complete on your own.
Don't forget to also allow for renewal of your personal relationships. It's hard when you have kids, for example, to carve out some together time for you and your spouse or significant other. Try to dedicate some time each day, or each week, for you and your spouse or significant other to have some "together" time. Sometimes it's just sitting and talking for a few minutes...Just enough to reconnect and let each other know what's going on in your lives and talk about anything important.
Friendships also require time and work. Don't forget to call that friend who you haven't called for a while, and you know it's been too long. Even if it seems like you're always the one initiating the contact every time, just know that they really appreciate hearing from you.
As the holidays approach, don't forget about time of renewal amongst the bustle of the season. Have a great weekend, and best wishes.
Victor
