I hit you all pretty hard yesterday, so I wanted to keep things a bit lighter today. Part of maintaining a positive outlook, both in your personal and professional life is feeling good about yourself emotionally. One of the best ways to help yourself feel good emotionally is by keeping active.
I know a lot of people don't like the way their arms jiggle when they move their arms quickly. It seems to get worse as we get older.
Here's something I did to firm up my upper body and arms. It's called the potato bag exercise. Try it out and let me know if it works for you!
Here's how it works:
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5 lb. potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them for as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.
Each day, you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.
After a couple of weeks, move up to 10 lb. potato bags.
Then try 20 lb. potato bags, and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 20 lb. potato bag in each hand and hold out your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I eventually got to this level after a few months).
After you feel confident at this level, put a potato in each of the bags.
Good luck, and best wishes!
Victor
